History

Riverview Fire District was formed in 1927 as a volunteer group. In 1962 the city voted to switch to a paid department due to the growing population and an increase in call volume. Today, the district has 17 stations, 4 EMS-only stations, and employs over 300 firefighters, paramedics, chiefs, and support staff. The district responds to over 44,000 calls annually, over 9,000 being fire-related incidents. The district protects over 100,000 citizens and 75 miles of land.

Line of Duty Deaths
Thankfully, no RFD firefighter has ever paid the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty.
