Stations and Apparatus


Station 1 Central Square- Engine 1, Ladder 1, Medic 1, EMS 1
The Central Square station was built in 1999 and replaced the old St. 1. It has three bays and can house up to 12 firefighters at a time. Station 1 houses Engine 1, Medic 1, Ladder 1, and EMS 1. Station 1 is one of the busiest stations in Riverview, running over 5000 calls a year. Engine 1 is a 2025 Pierce Enforcer. Engine 1 is a BLS engine and staffed with two Firefighter/EMTs and one officer. Ladder 1 is a 2016 Spartan Gladiator Tiller Ladder. It is BLS staffed with two Firefighter/EMT's and one officer. Medic 1 is a 2023 Freightliner M2/Braun. Medic 1 is ALS capable and is staffed with 2 Firemedics. EMS 1 is a 2024 Chevy Tahoe. It staffs one EMS chief who is responsible for all ALS units covering the northern district of Riverview. 

Station 2 Downtown- Engine 2, Medic 2, Medic 19, Battalion 1
Station 2 is in downtown Riverview. Station 2 was constructed in October, 2012. The original station was built in 1937 and was the oldest station to be used. Station 2 houses Engine 2, Medic 2, Medic 19, and Battalion 1. Engine 2 is a 2021 Pierce Enforcer. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 2 is a 2019 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is an ALS unit and staffs two Firemedics. Medic 19 is a 2022 Ford F-450/Braun ambulance and serves as a peak-hour ambulance, operating twelve hours a day from 8 AM-8 PM. This peak-hour ambulance helps reduce response times during the busiest times of the day for EMS units. It was added to the department in 2022 and is staffed daily with two Firemedics. Battalion 1 is a 2018 Chevy Tahoe and staffs one battalion chief. 

Station 3 Airside- Engine 3, Heavy Rescue 3, ARFF 3, ARFF 4, ARFF 5, HAZMAT 3, MCI 3
Station 3 was built in 2024 and replaced an older station built in 1990. Station 3 is our largest station and houses the most vehicles. Station 3 is also first due to all calls at the Riverview International Airport. It houses Engine 3, Heavy Rescue 3, ARFF 3, ARFF 4, ARFF 5, HAZMAT 3, MCI 3, and a variety of specialty trailers and equipment. Engine 3 is a 2023 Pierce Enforcer. It is ALS capable and staffs two Firemedics and one officer. Heavy Rescue 3 is a 2025 Pierce Velocity Heavy Duty Rescue. It staffs two Firefighter/EMTs and one officer. HAZMAT 3 is a 2021 Freightliner/Pierce Encore Rescue and is a support unit to Heavy Rescue 3. It is cross-staffed by Station 3 personnel and will respond on all major HAZMAT incidents due to the unit's wide variety of equipment, tools, and speciality supplies. MCI 3 is a 2008 International/KME medium-duty rescue. It is cross-staffed with Station 3 personnel and has a variety of equipment and supplies for a mass casualty incident and/or hazmat emergency requiring decon of responders or bystanders. 

ARFF 3 is a 2020 Oshkosh Striker 4x4 ARFF crash truck. It is assigned with one Firefighter/EMT. FAA regulations require that it be manned 24/7. ARFF 4 is a 2019 Oshkosh Striker 6X6 ARFF unit. ARFF 4 holds over 3000 gallons of water, and responds on all emergencies at the airport. It is staffed 24/7 by one Firefighter/EMT. ARFF 5 is a 2024 Ford F-350/Pierce mini-pumper. ARFF 5 staffs two Firemedics and is ALS capable. It responds as a complement piece to ARFF 3 and ARFF 4 on all calls at the airport. It also can respond to medical calls within Station 3's response district. The crews on ARFF 3, ARFF 4, and ARFF 5 are highly trained for aircraft emergencies. Many of the firefighters assigned to Station 3 also have special operations certifications, meaning they have skilled training in vehicle crash extrication, HazMat, structural collapse, and technical rescue. 

Station 3 also houses Trailer 1 (MCI), Trailer 2 (HAZMAT), and Trailer 3 (Tech. Rescue). They also have a Ford F-350 which is in service as Pull Vehicle 1(PV1) to pull the trailers to a scene if needed. 

Station 4 Riverview Cove- Quint 4, Medic 4, Dive 4, Marine 4
Station 4 is located in Riverview Cove, off Clairmont Ave, just east of the connector bridge. The station was rebuilt and completed in September, 2015. Station 4 houses Quint 4, Medic 4, Dive 4, and Marine 4. Quint 4 is a 2019 Pierce Enforcer Ascendant quint with a 107' straight stick aerial. It is ALS capable and staffs two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 4 is a 2019 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics. Dive 4 is a 2017 Freightliner M2/KME special rescue. The dive unit contains tools and equipment for water rescues, as well as Scuba equipment. Dive 4 is staffed with one Firefighter/EMT. All crew members assigned to Station 4 have extensive training in water rescues. Marine 7 is a 2014 30' Metal Shark fire boat. It is docked at a nearby marina and can be deployed for water rescues or harbor fires.

Station 5 Seminole Creek- Engine 5, Medic 5, Brush 5
Station 5 is located on Turban Road in the Seminole Creek section of Riverview. Having formerly served on Oriole Rd, it was relocated in early 2020 to service the rising development in and around Seminole Creek. The older station is being renovated to serve as the Department Headquarters. Construction on the new fire station was completed in January 2021 and houses the crews of Engine 5, Medic 5, and Brush 5. Engine 5 is a 2023 Pierce Enforcer. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 5 is a 2014 Freightliner/Horton Ambulance. It is ALS capable and staffed with two Firemedics. Brush 5 is a 2021 Ford F550/Weis Quick Attack400RM and is cross-staffed by Station 5 personnel when needed. 

Station 6 Ramos Square- Engine 6, Medic 6
Station 6 is quartered in the Ramos Square area. Station 6 was rebuilt in 2016 and replaced an older two-story facility built in 1962. Station 6 houses Engine 6 and Medic 6. Engine 6 is a 2026 Pierce Enforcer. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 6 is a 2024 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is ALS capable and staffs two fire medics. 

Station 7 Lockridge- Quint 7, Medic 7
Station 7 is located off Teller Rd in the Lockridge neighborhood. It was recently rebuilt and opened in October, 2022. Station 7 houses Quint 7 and Medic 7. Quint 7 is a 2024 Pierce Velocity Quint with a 75' ft aerial ladder. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 7 is a 2020 Freightliner/Braun ambulance. It is ALS capable and staffs two firemedics. 

Station 8 Palm Bay- Engine 8, Medic 8
Station 8 is located in the Palm Bay area of the district. Station 8 houses Engine 8 and Medic 8. Engine 8 is a 2022 Pierce Impel. It is BLS capable and is staffed with two Firefighter/EMTs and one officer. Medic 8 is a 2021 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics. 

Station 9 Forest Hills- Engine 9, Tanker 9, Brush 9
Station 9 is located in the Forest Hills area and was built in 1991. Station 9 houses Engine 9, Tanker 9, and Brush 9. Engine 9 is a 2020 Pierce Arrow XT. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Tanker 9 is a 2025 Freightliner/Pierce tanker. It carries 2500 gallons of water and is cross-staffed with members assigned to Engine 9. Brush 9 is a 2021 Ford F550/Weis Quick Attack400RM and responds on all brush fires in the area. 

Station 10 Waldemere Park- Engine 10, Medic 10, Command 10, Rehab 10
Station 10 is located near Waldemere Park. It was recently rebuild and completed in December, 2018.  Station 10 houses Engine 10, Medic 10, Command 10, and Support 10. Engine 10 is a 2020 Pierce Impel. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 10 is a 2024 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics. 

Command 10 is a 2016 Freightliner/Frontline C-30 Command Bus. It can be deployed at large-scale incidents, or can be used in the event of a hurricane or other emergencies where our fire dispatch may be down due to natural disasters. Command 1 can hold up to 12 emergency personnel at a time, and allows chief's and other officers to monitor emergency situations safely on scene and communicate with fire personnel from one central location. Rehab 10 is a 2018 Freightliner/Pierce Light Duty Walk-In Rescue. It has an air-conditioned, enclosed compartment where personnel can cool off and rehab after fires and other incidents that require personnel to be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Rehab 10 serves as a complement piece to Command 10 and can be staffed to respond on any large-scale incident. 

Station 11 Forest Park "Ring of Fire"- Engine 11, Medic 11, Battalion 2
Station 11 is located nearby the Forest Park development center.  It was built in 1989.  Station 11 houses Engine 11, Medic 11, and Battalion 2. Engine 11 is a 2020 Pierce Impel. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 11 is a 2024 Freightliner M2/Braun.  It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics. Battalion 2 is a 2018 Chevy Tahoe and is staffed with one battalion chief. 

Station 12 Interstate Plaza- Engine 12, Ladder 12, Medic 12
Station 12 is located near the I-65 exit ramp and is first due to most highway emergencies. The station was built in 1999. Station 12 houses Engine 12, Ladder 12, and Medic 12. Engine 12 is a 2024 Pierce Enforcer. It is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 12 is a 2014 Freightliner/Horton Medic. It is also ALS capable and staffs two Firemedics. Ladder 12 is a 2019 Pierce Velocity with a 100' ft ladder and platform. It is staffed with two Firefighter/EMTs and one officer.

Station 13 Prairie East- Engine 13, Medic 13
Station 13 was added to the department in 2013 when the department expanded. Station 13's construction was finished in July of 2014. It currently houses Engine 13 and Medic 13. Engine 13 is a 2021 Pierce Arrow XT.  It is ALS capable and staffs two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 13 is a 2020 Freightliner/Braun ambulance. Medic 13 is ALS capable and staffs two fire medics. 

Station 14 Forest Acres- Engine 14, Medic 14, EMS 2
Station 14 covers the Forest Acres neighborhood and houses Engine 14, Medic 14, and EMS 2. Station 14 was added to the district in January 2017 to cover the rapidly growing Forest Acres community, as well as the new I-65 On/Off-ramp in the area. Construction on the new station was completed in January, 2018. Engine 14 is a 2017 Pierce Arrow XT. It staffs two Firefighter/EMTs and one officer and is BLS capable. Medic 14 is a 2023 Freightliner M2/Braun, and staffs two Firemedics. EMS 2 is a 2017 Chevy Tahoe and is staffed with one EMS chief who covers the southern end of the district. 

Station 15 Prairie Ranch- Engine 15, Battalion 3
Station 15 covers the rapidly developing Prairie Ranch section of Riverview. It was added to the Fire District in January, 2019 and the station was completed in January of 2020. Engine 15 is 2019 Pierce Enforcer. Engine 15 is Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipped and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Battalion 3 is a 2012 Chevy Tahoe and is staffed by one battalion chief. 

Station 16 Evergreen Park- Engine 16, Medic 16, Air Truck 16, Division 1
Station 16 was an additional fire station added to RFD in 2022. The station was built to protect the expanding areas near downtown including the new Evergreen Park mixed-residential and commercial plaza. Station 16 houses Engine 16, Medic 16, and Air Truck 16. Engine 16 is a 2022 Pierce Enforcer engine that is ALS-equipped and staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 16 is a 2025 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is ALS capable and staffed with two firemedics. Air Truck 16 is a 2017 Freightliner/Pierce air truck. It staffs one Firefighter/EMT and responds on all structure fire calls. Division 1 is the on-duty Division Chief for the department. Division 1 oversees all three Battalion Chiefs and is the overall shift commander. Division 1 is dispatched to all major incidents in the district. 

EMS Station 17/Brickside Fire Dept. Station 1
EMS Station 17 is a shared facility with the Brickside Fire Department and the Riverview Fire District. Similar to Brickton Beach, we have been contracted to provide EMS service to Brickside. Medic 17 is a 2018 Freightliner M2/Braun ambulance. It is ALS capable and staffed with two Firemedics. 

EMS Station 18/Brickton Beach Station 2
EMS Station 18 
is one of two shared facilities between Brickton Beach Fire Rescue and the Riverview Fire District. Because our department has been contracted to provide emergency medical services to Brickton Beach, we have one Medic unit (Medic 18) stationed there at all times. It is located near Palmer Marina in Brickton Beach. Medic 18 is stationed here, along with Brickton Beach's Truck 32, Battalion 30, and Marine 32. Medic 18 is a 2018 Freightliner M2/Braun. It is ALS capable is staffed with two Firemedics. 

EMS Station 20/Brickton Beach Station 1
EMS Station 20 is the second shared facility between Brickton Beach Fire Rescue and the Riverview Fire District. It is located four miles north of Station 6. Medic 20 is a 2023 Freightliner M2/Braun Ambulance. It is ALS capable is staffed with two Firemedics. It is housed at Brickton Beach Fire Rescue Station 31. 

EMS Station 21/Brickside Fire Dept. Station 3
EMS Station 21 is a shared facility with the Brickside Fire Department and the Riverview Fire District. Similar to Brickton Beach, we have been contracted to provide EMS service to Brickside. This unit was added to the department in February, 2021. Medic 21 is a 2021 Freightliner M2/Braun ambulance. It is ALS capable and staffed with two Firemedics. 

Station 22 Seminole- Engine 22, Medic 22, Brush 22, Tanker 22
Station 22 was taken over from Staten County as RFD was selected by contract to cover the unincorporated area of Seminole. Station 22 was built in 1999. It now staffs Engine 22, Medic 22, Brush 22, and Tanker 22 as of October 12th, 2020. Engine 22 is a 2021 Freightliner/Pierce 4x4 Commercial PumperIt is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics and one officer. Medic 22 is a 2021 Freightliner M2/BraunIt is ALS capable and is staffed with two Firemedics. Brush 22 is a 2021 Freightliner/Weis Stallion brush truck and is dispatched on all brush fires in the area. Tanker 22 is a 2022 Freightliner/Pierce Tanker, equipped with 2100 gallons of water. This is extremely valuable as there are very few fire hydrants in Station 22's response area. 

EMS Station 23- Medic 23
EMS Station 23 was added to the department in 2025 and is located in Brickton Beach, serving the northern portions of the district. This unit is apart of our long-standing partnership providing EMS transport services to the residents within Brickton Beach Fire Department's area. Due to the continued growth in this area, Medic 23 was added to reduce response times. It is currently in a temporary facility on Belle Haven Road. Eventual plans include a fire station located in the vicinity that Medic 23 would share space with. Medic 23 is a 2025 Freightliner/Braun ambulance staffed with two firemedics.

Administration
Fire District Administration is located on Oriole Drive in the former Fire Station #5. It was recently renovated and repurposed to house all of administration and also fleet maintenance. The former apparatus bays for the station now house numerous spare apparatus for the district. 

Station 99- Training Grounds
Station 99 is the training facility and fire academy for our department. Station 99 is one of the largest training facilities in the area. The 6-acre piece of land has one four-story training tower, fuel tanks for burns, a vehicle pad for extrication practice, two classroom portables, as well as a small mock-house for mock burns and rescues. Also on the property is a garage with three bays for training apparatus and equipment storage. New hires take part in an 6-week course to become firefighters for RFD. They do classroom and field work and learn how to use our apparatus and equipment.  Crews in the department also come to the training grounds several days a week to participate in required training exercises.
